Between May and September 2023, 18 events took place across cities such as Rome, Turin, Ventotene, Arques, Budapest, and Riga, engaging participants from 19 European countries. These events aimed to raise awareness about the European integration process, the EU’s institutions, and their impact on citizens, fostering dialogue among diverse groups, including migrants, youth, and the general public.
The workshops, supported by internal training and shared resources provided by project partners, utilized participatory methods such as expert-led discussions, interactive activities, and creative exercises. Topics ranged from the history of European integration and institutional functioning to key issues like disinformation, human rights, and the EU’s role in daily life. Participants also engaged in simulations, debates, and artistic activities to deepen their understanding of the EU and its policies.
The events highlighted the diversity of participants’ experiences and perspectives, creating opportunities for reflection and collaboration. From youth festivals in Hungary to civic debates in France and simulations in the Netherlands, each activity contributed to building a collective narrative about Europe’s present and future.
A key outcome was the creation of a comprehensive Hub of Existing Resources About the European Union, featuring materials such as texts, videos, and slides to support ongoing workshops and enhance EU-related education. These efforts have laid a strong foundation for promoting informed and active participation in the European project, particularly as the 2024 European Elections approach.
