From January to May 2024, a series of workshops and events were organized by project partners across various European cities, bringing together participants from 16 countries. These activities aimed to explore innovative approaches to strengthen democratic engagement and foster dialogue around key European challenges. Central to the events was the use of arts as a universal language to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers, enhancing inclusivity and participation.

The events combined creative and interactive formats, such as artistic workshops, film screenings, debates, and games, allowing participants to express ideas and tackle pressing issues through diverse media. Key activities included:

  • Arts as a bridge: Participants used tools like theater, poetry, music, and visual arts to address topics such as human rights, social justice, climate change, and migration. This approach fostered collaboration across linguistic and cultural differences.
  • Interactive exploration: Role-playing games, discussions, and debates encouraged critical thinking about EU policies and myths while inspiring participants to elaborate questions and proposals for future Members of the European Parliament.
  • Celebrating diversity: Events highlighted European values through cross-cultural performances and participatory exhibitions, creating spaces for dialogue and shared experiences.
By using arts as a universal medium, the events engaged diverse audiences, amplifying voices from different backgrounds and perspectives. These activities contributed valuable insights and proposals for shaping the future of Europe, aligning with the broader goals of the Words of Europe project.
