From May to September 2024, artistic residencies and workshops took place across Europe, involving participants from diverse backgrounds. These events transformed ideas and themes from earlier phases of the Words of Europe project into creative artworks, using art as a universal language to connect people and foster inclusion.
Participants collaborated with professional artists to create murals, paintings, films, music, and zines, inspired by themes like identity, freedom, and inclusion. Through interactive activities and open dialogue, the residencies brought together migrants, young people, and marginalized groups to explore shared challenges and envision a brighter future for Europe.
The resulting artworks not only captured these collective reflections but also became the foundation of the WE Participatory Vocabulary—a creative tool to share proposals, voices, artworks, and hopes for the future of Europe!
